Update

Sunday Bluebird

I hope you had a chance to make turns this past weekend. While I love skiing powder, it’s also amazingly fun to ski grippy groomers under blue skies with comfortable temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s. Yeehaw!

Monday

Similar to the past three mornings, there is an inversion where the temperature at the base (10-15F) is colder than up on the mountain (20-30F). While skies will be sunny in the morning, we’ll see more clouds during the afternoon and maybe a light shower as temperatures stay in the low 30s.

Storm Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening

Tuesday will be mostly dry and partly to mostly cloudy, then snow will arrive on Tuesday evening and should continue through most of the day on Wednesday.

I think the snow report on Wednesday morning will show just light accumulations from Tuesday night, but then significant snow (and wind) could occur during the day on Wednesday, tapering off by Wednesday late evening.

Total snowfall will likely be in the 2-4 inch range, though we could see 6+ inches if things come together just right.

The best powder will likely be from Wednesday late morning through late afternoon, with leftover soft snow on Thursday morning (if the storm slows down a bit, Thursday morning could be better than expected).

A dry end to the week

Thursday will be dry and mostly sunny, then we could see more clouds and a few showers on Friday.

Weekend and Christmas Week

There will be four possible storms between Friday, December 21, and Thursday, December 27. The first storm could be weak and bring light snow later Friday into Saturday. The next two storms could be stronger, with snow from later Saturday into Sunday and again sometime around Monday. Then a slow-moving system could arrive around or just after Christmas and last for a few days. In short, there will be plenty of action to talk about with four storms in the pipeline. Good stuff!

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
