Thanks to clouds on Monday night, the temperature inversion (cooler weather at lower elevations) is mostly gone and readings on Tuesday morning are in the 18-25F range from base to summit. We should start the day with more clouds and perhaps a light shower, then we’ll see some breaks of sunshine through the second half of the day.

Storm Tuesday evening to Wednesday evening

Snow should arrive on Tuesday evening and it’ll likely continue through most of the day on Wednesday.

I think the snow report on Wednesday morning will show just light accumulations from Tuesday night, and then most of the snow will fall during the day on Wednesday, tapering off by Wednesday late afternoon.

Total snowfall should be in the 3-6 inch range, though we could see more if we’re lucky.

Your best chance for enjoying soft turns and some powder will be from Wednesday late morning through late afternoon, with leftover soft snow on Thursday morning.

Also, the wind will be strong with this storm, so head for more protected areas in the trees.

A dry end to the week

Thursday will be dry and mostly sunny, then we could see more clouds later on Friday.

Weekend and Christmas Week

The updated forecasts continue to show active weather, with a few inches possible from Friday night into Saturday and another good chance for snow from Sunday night through Monday. After that, storms may track further to the south later on Christmas week, and that could bring anything from mostly dry weather to times of moderate snow if a moist northwest flow can kick in on the backside of a departing storm.
