Vail is closed, this is my final post of the 2019-2020 season

Update

Vail closed on Sunday, March 15th due to the COVID-19 virus and the resort is closed for the rest of the 2019-2020 season.

This will be my final Vail Daily Snow post of the season. While I do love talking about the weather, and I do love helping you find snow, I am going to stop writing this forecast based on requests from community leaders who do not want to draw attention to the town and to the mountain due to my writing about incoming storms. First responders need to focus on COVID-19 and do not want to spend time on snow-related injuries or issues. I understand and will honor this sentiment.

I WILL continue to update the Colorado Daily Snow through April, and the automated forecasts for Vail WILL continue to be updated multiple times per day, as well as the mountain cams (I do hope that the resort keeps these working through the springtime). All of our information for Vail is available here: https://opensnow.com/location/vail and on our mobile apps for iPhone and Android.

Thank you for a wonderful season, and I wish you a safe and healthy spring, with a hopeful return to normalcy later in the spring and over the summer. I’ll see you back here in the late fall of 2020!
