Snowfall picks up mid to late week

Update

Expect a mostly sunny day on Monday, but perhaps a little fog at times mainly in the morning. Temperatures will be chilly in the morning, so buddle up. Then temperatures will hover near freezing in the alpine for the afternoon. Tuesday will see increasing clouds with a chance of a little snow later in the day, as a weak font decays over western BC. Accumulations will be minor above mid-station, maybe slightly more than a dusting.

Wednesday will start will some clearing, then the clouds will increase leading to occasional snow for Thursday and at least the early part of Friday, with a new weather system. New snowfall will be much greater than earlier in the week, with respectable with 48 hr totals 20-30 cm? That could double the current snowpack?

The upcoming weekend will be mainly dry as high-pressure moves in and creates a snowless pattern. I am still looking for that game-changing, somewhat continuous snowstorm cycle. This is one of the slowest seasonal starts for typically reliable Whistler snowfall in decades, but they are doing a good job with what they have while utilizing extensive snowmaking.
