Update

On Sunday during the day, snow fell at a surprisingly intense rate and we measured 6 inches. This is much more snow than I expected with an unfavorable wind direction from the west-southwest and west, but we’ll take the flakes!

Then on Sunday afternoon, a cold front arrived and we saw a burst of snow right around sunset that dropped about 1 inch, and then snow showers continued on Sunday night through we were only able to generate another 1-2 inches of accumulation. Total snowfall from the storm came in at 8 inches, which was on the high end of my forecast range.

Now on Monday morning, you’ll find soft snow across the mountain thanks to the snow during the past 24 hours. Through the day, expect clouds, more snow showers, and eventually maybe some breaks of sunshine.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be dry with high temperatures in the 20s and at least partly sunny skies.

Then we have a very good chance of seeing significant snow from Thursday night through Sunday thanks to the combination of multiple storms, a cold front, and the jet stream. Snow totals should be near or above one foot and the best chance for the deepest powder should be on Saturday and Sunday. I’ll provide more details during the next few days leading up to this series of storms.

Thanks for reading and check back each morning for daily updates!
