There might not be any perfect chase based on winds, temperatures, or deepness. The deepest totals will fall in the central and northern Sierras, followed by south coastal BC near Whistler. Wind and temperature swings could cause issues. The North Rockies look better for less wind and colder temps with 8-16 inches.

There's no sugarcoating it - the weather pattern between now and the end of December will not be favorable for significant snowfall. But at least we'll see a few chances for flakes, including today (Friday), Sunday, and Tuesday. All three of these weak storms will likely bring light accumulations over the northern mountains.

Light snow on Friday. Dry and warm on Saturday. Light snow on Sunday. Dry and warm on Monday. One more chance for light snow on Tuesday ahead of a mild and dry pattern for the second half of next week and likely into the week of Christmas.

A storm remains on track for the West from Friday to Sunday with the deepest snow totals favoring the Sierra, Cascades, BC Coast Range, and Northern Rockies. A weaker storm will move across the West early next week, followed by a warming/drying trend through Christmas. The East will see a mild pattern with more rain than snow through early next week, followed by a colder pattern late next week.
