February 2018 Colorado Snowpack & Recent Powder Photos

Western Canada and the Northern Rockies have been grabbing most of the powder headlines for the better part of the 2017-18 season. But thanks to a recent surge of storms, the snowpack at resorts in Summit County, Colorado is approaching 100% of average.

As of Thursday, February 8th, our internal analysis shows Arapahoe Basin (cover photo) sitting at 96% compared to average, while Breckenridge sits at 90% compared to average.

The following Base Depth vs. Average graphs are available to OpenSnow All-Access users for nearly every mountain location in the western US and Canada.

The statewide snowpack across Colorado is still well below-average, but when it comes to skiing or riding powder, the base depth is deep enough for most terrain across the state to be open, and each new storm can bring plenty of pow to make for a fun day!

For your viewing pleasure, here are a few photos from Tuesday, February 6th when many resorts across Colorado reported high single-digit and some double-digit snow totals.
