WINTER IS COMING

It may still be officially summer in the Northern Hemisphere but to us weather folk, we are now in Meteorological Fall. This not only has the team here at OpenSnow excited, but also the weather across the Intermountain West!

Big Sky, Montana and Lake Louise Ski Resort in Alberta, Canada are just two of the many locations who have received a dusting of snow over the past month, but this weekend looks to be the first real sign of the approaching winter. A fairly strong system will swing across the Intermountain West, dropping mountain top temperatures into the mid to upper 20s. As you can see in the image above, many resort and heli-skiing locations across British Columbia, Alberta, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and possibly even Wyoming and Utah, have snow in the forecast through Sunday, September 6th.

We want this story to evolve throughout Labor Day Weekend and beyond so with that in mind, here is a list of the best webcams, along with our favorite Facebook accounts that regularly post about their latest snowfall and changing seasons.
