The midweek storm we have been tracking might arrive a little later than previously expected, now looking like Thursday night into Friday. The first week of April the storm track could retreat to our north.

Lingering moisture and instability will result in isolated flurries on Sunday & Monday with light & spotty accumulations. Snow shower activity will be most widespread across the Eastern & Southern Interior. A Low pressure trough centered over SE Idaho Sunday has dropped 10" of fresh *pow* at Pomerelle, Magic and Pebble Creek, and there's another 5-10" forecast to fall in that region Sunday before the Low exits to the east. Chilly unsettled weather is forecast elsewhere Sunday with a chance of light snow. Partial clearing expected Mon-Wed before another Low trough brings more snow Thursday.

Our snowpack is near a record level across Colorado, with more snow in the forecast. First, a cold storm will bring 3-6 inches from later Sunday to later Monday. Second, a stronger storm will deliver 6-12 inches from later Thursday to early Saturday. And third, a storm should deliver more snow from later Sunday, April 2 through Tuesday, April 4.

Fresh totals of ~2-5" are coming in at resorts across northern New England. Expect additional light snow early Sunday with increasing sunshine (and wind) through the afternoon. Some light snow returns on Monday into Tuesday.

That was something else on Saturday! From 4" per hour snowfall rates to refills all day in the Traverse City region, there was lots of great snow to be had. Quieter weather is expected Sunday - Tuesday, with some light snow possible on Wednesday. The next major system likely arrives for Friday into Saturday.

Another wave will bring snow showers today into early Monday for northern Utah mountains as temperatures remain very cold. A break Tuesday before a warmer storm arrives on Wednesday bringing low elevation rain and high elevation snow through Thursday. More storms possible beyond that.

Gusty winds will be the main story Sunday, with a few flurries in NY. A weak storm will move an area of rain and snow on Monday afternoon through northern PA and NY. Snow accumulations of 1-3 inches are likely by Tuesday morning in the Catskills. Additional chances of light snow in NY are possible next week. Let’s break it all down…

What a week! There is so much to talk about! Feet and Feet of snow just landed in the Rockies, Oregon, and even California (Ditto). The next 7 days will continue with unseasonably cold conditions and more storms favoring Oregon, Sierra, and the Rockies especially midweek.

24-hour snowfall as of Saturday afternoon had 12cm at Nakiska, 6cm at Norquay, 5cm Sunshine, and 2cm Castle Mountain. Latest model runs indicate upslope snowfall redeveloping Sat night which could add another 5 – 10cm at all the previously mentioned resorts as well as Marmot Basin. Ridging builds in for Sunday, but upslope snowfall returns Sun night adding another 3 – 5cm. Semi-clearing Monday.

Another storm impacted the Tetons on Friday with widespread snow across the region. A robust NW flow developed on Fri night, favoring Targhee who is reporting 22" on Sat AM! The NW flow pattern will continue thru Sat, favoring Targhee & the upper slopes of Jackson Hole. Lighter snow showers can be expected Sun, followed by a break Mon-Tue. Two more storms are possible March 29-30 & April 1-2.

Lingering moisture and instability will result in scattered snow showers across the PNW on Sat & Sun with the most widespread activity during the afternoon hours. Snow totals will generally be light and variable. The next storm will move into OR on Mon-Tue with moderate snow totals expected, while this storm will largely miss WA. Following a midweek break, another storm is possible Mar 31-Apr 1.

Nearly four feet of new snow this week will make for a glorious weekend on the slopes.

The Rockies have been in the flow this week with deep totals adding up over the course of several days. Snow will continue to favor the Northwest and the Rockies late this week and into the weekend, then a strong storm will take aim at Tahoe and the Sierra Nevada Range next week. The East will see mixed precipitation this weekend, followed by uncertainty next week.

The storm from the last few days performed very well! Bogus and Tamarack performed as expected. I loved that Brundage got a bit more than I thought they would. We have a solid few days of incoming precipitation so let's take a look!

Just a quick update today, as things are pretty quiet until the end of the week. The timing of the next storm has changed a bit, but significant snow is still likely.

A significant late-season heatwave will persist across the West throughout the holiday weekend before eventually relenting mid to late next week. Daily record highs are likely across much of the West and some areas will break Sept monthly records as well. Smoky conditions have also become more widespread across the Northwest & Northern Rockies. Cooler temps will finally arrive late next week.
