The storm track will be to our north this week with temperatures staying near seasonal averages. We could see a trough bring a few showers and some cooler air the week of the 28th.

Even though seasonal forecasts are rarely accurate, we like to look at the current atmospheric and ocean patterns and compare those to past seasons. The forecast below covers up to six months out, but we know that skiing quality improves and degrades with storm cycles that last a few days to a week.

21 inches at Wolf Creek last weekend with the first resort to announce an opening date this week. As forecasted the low pressure that stalled over the 4 corners is now sliding east and north impacting the central and northern ranges of Colorado. Next week could be deep!

The Southern Rockies will see a break in the pattern this week after receiving heavy snow over the weekend. Overall, warmer temperatures are expected across the Lower 48, though weaker storms will bring light rain & snow to the Northwest at times. A stronger storm will begin to impact the Pacific NW this weekend, with the potential for a colder & more active pattern across the West next week.

For the rest of this week, a cold front moving across the Central Rockies will bring showers & t-storms to WY, CO, & NM Wed-Thu while the West Coast states will see a late-season heat wave. Next week, isolated to scattered showers & t-storms develop across the West with continued mild temps. Heading into mid-month, the PNW will trend wetter and cooler.

Friday will be mostly seasonal with Spring conditions. The tide turns by Saturday with breezy conditions and clouds rolling in as a quick final storm might impact our region with an outside chance of snowfall for Mt. Baldy. Next week Spring reigns supreme!
