Snow this morning (Friday) will taper off this afternoon. Another, stronger storm will move into northern Utah late Saturday and continue into Sunday with powder likely on Sunday. A weak follow-up system on Tuesday of next week before high pressure takes control for drier weather leading up to Christmas.

A storm remains on track for the West from Friday to Sunday with the deepest snow totals favoring the Sierra, Cascades, BC Coast Range, and Northern Rockies. A weaker storm will move across the West early next week, followed by a warming/drying trend through Christmas. The East will see a mild pattern with more rain than snow through early next week, followed by a colder pattern late next week.

There are three storms to watch. The initial phase hits the Sierra Thursday with moderate, decent-quality powder. The second surge of moisture brings in warmer, windier, and deeper snow for the Sierra on Saturday. The PNW and BC will grab heavy snowfall, favoring the north. Central Idaho, the Wasatch, and the Tetons should nab 5-11 inches this weekend, initially warm, followed by cooling.
