        Early Season Extremes

        1 day ago Bob Ambrose

The yin and yang of last week’s weather looms large currently. From 50 mm of rain at Castle to 80 cm of wet, base-building snow at Sunshine and Louise, it has been an interesting week. Just a note that Castle is in recovery mode having received nearly 40 cm since the rain event. Now an extended break in the action as a ridge sets up over Western Canada blocking incoming storms through next Friday.

Snow for the Rockies Including Deep Totals in Canada

        2 days ago Alan Smith

A powerful storm produced deep snow totals at Banff and Lake Louise this week with moderate totals for the BC Powder Highway. The storm is now working its way through the U.S. Rockies late this week. Heavy snow fell in the Northern Rockies on Thursday and will spread into Utah and Colorado on Friday. Next week is looking dry for most areas, except for Alaska which will see heavy snow.
