Moisture will overspread the Sierra Wednesday night, with moderate totals and colder temperatures. A stronger storm with a warm front will bring double digits to the Sierra, Pacific Northwest, western BC, and a few spots in the Rockies.

First, a weak storm will arrive on Thu with light snow showers & this storm has trended weaker. A strong storm remains on track for the weekend, and if anything confidence for deep snow totals has increased. There has been a significant change in the timing, however, as the storm has trended toward an earlier arrival with snow from Fri night to Sun AM. Temps & snow levels have also trended higher.

The West will see some welcome snow late this week and into the weekend after a drier start to December. A weak storm will move through on Thursday followed by a stronger storm Friday-Sunday. The Sierra (including Tahoe), Cascades, BC, and Northern Rockies will be favored for the deepest snow totals. The East will see rain & some snow Wed-Thu & again early next week with a warmer airmass in place.
