With Lake Louise and Marmot Basin closing this past weekend, and Sunshine Village in good shape to make it to Slush Cup on May 19, Alberta’s 6-month-long, 24/25 ski season is nearing its end. In this closing post, I’ll give a chronological overview of the season’s snowfall, highlight a few deep cycles, and showcase lots of powdery images from an overall variable ski season that ended with a bang.

The winter of 2024-2025 featured near to above average snowfall across the Sierra, Central/Northern Rockies, and much of the East. Snowpack is currently melting at a faster rate than usual across much of the West due to warmer and drier conditions so far in April. Looking ahead, a storm will bring high-elevation snow showers to the Sierra & the Rockies from late this week through early next week.

This will be my final chase powder post for the 24/25 season. It has been an epic season in many areas, including northern Vermont and many northern/Central Rockies, Sierra, and Alaska spots. La Niña delivered as forecasted. Next Season will be deep somewhere! It is always deep on the Chase Powder Forecast. This post recaps the season for 24/25.
