Moisture will overspread the Sierra Wednesday night, with moderate totals and colder temperatures. A stronger storm with a warm front will bring double digits to the Sierra, Pacific Northwest, western BC, and a few spots in the Rockies.

Wednesday and Thursday will be dry and warmer. Then three storms may bring snow into next week. The storms are scheduled for Friday, Sunday into Sunday night, and maybe next Wednesday, December 18. Each storm should favor the northern and central mountains, and total snowfall should be just a few inches with each system.

The West will see some welcome snow late this week and into the weekend after a drier start to December. A weak storm will move through on Thursday followed by a stronger storm Friday-Sunday. The Sierra (including Tahoe), Cascades, BC, and Northern Rockies will be favored for the deepest snow totals. The East will see rain & some snow Wed-Thu & again early next week with a warmer airmass in place.
