Two systems bring rain and snow to the northern Sierra Wednesday afternoon through Thursday night. The weekend looks dry again into the week of the 11th. We could see a storm around the 16th-17th, and then we could go back into a drier pattern again...
The northern Sierra finally looks decent for 7-14 inches with the PNW finally cooling down by Thursday. Moisture initially returns to the PNW in the form of snow before a warm front moves in Saturday night. The Rockies score moderate totals with some deeper pockets in Wyoming, Utah, and perhaps Idaho from Thursday to Friday.
A storm impacted New England early this week with Jay Peak receiving 16 inches of new snow. Ski season is off to a fantastic start in this region! The Northwest saw a transition from snow to heavy rain early this week, but colder air is on the way with several shots of snow ahead. The Rockies will also see some snow late this week.
