Sadly, the recent warm weather and rain have forced many resorts to close for the season. However, a handful remain open, and we should get more clarity early this coming week on which ones will stay open.
A departing storm brought a final surge on Friday to the I-70 corridor under NW flow, pushing snowfall north of the San Juan Range over the I-70 corridor and north to Steamboat. A new storm in the PNW on Saturday will crank out 20-50 inches, with the highest totals in Oregon. Idaho, MT, Tetons seem favored next for the leftovers. A new storm moves into the Sierra early next week and pushes east.
An active pattern will continue across the West with multiple strong storms expected this weekend and next week. All major ski regions from the Southwest to Canada are favored. The East will remain in a spring-like pattern with rain expected on Sunday.
