Chases might be decent in the PNW and Canada this weekend, with moisture decaying as it moves into Idaho/Montana and Colorado by Sunday. Warm air initially in the PNW will push snow levels very high, followed by a strong cold front on Saturday. Deep snow is possible in the PNW or summits in BC.

We are in the middle of a very boring pattern and all eyes are on the long-range models. Right now we play the waiting game. The good news is that a weak trough will move through our area on Sunday which should hopefully provide a little mountain snow and mix out the valley inversions. Let's take a look!

A favorable pattern will remain in place across the East with cold temperatures, and a storm will also bring widespread moderate snow to New England. A storm will move into the West over the weekend and into early next week with snow favoring the Northwest and the Rockies, though some parts of the Northwest will see predominantly rain with warmer air in place.
