The models do agree on a solid period of accumulating snow followed by a prolonged period of rain. There's still some questions on when the snow will start, but a warm atmospehric river arriving on Sunday will turn everthing to rain and likely wash away all the new snow. Western Roller Coaster Storm Adding Up To Big Numbers- Cold To Warm1 day ago Powderchaser Steve
Atmospheric river approaches the NW late this week overspreading the Rockies this weekend into next week. While AR events are usually associated with warm temps, there is a cold front that will keep snow levels very low during the initial phases. Deep snow is likely for the PNW and areas of the Rockies. Warm temps will raise snow levels late this weekend in the PNW and eventually the Rockies.

High pressure will finally break down across the West late this week, opening up the door for a series of storms to bring much-needed snowfall heading into early December. This pattern will favor the deepest snow totals across Canada, the Pacific Northwest, and the Rockies. New England also picked up some good snow early this week with more snow chances ahead over the next 7+ days.
