Monsoon Uptick for the Southwest & Rockies Through Sunday

    10 hours ago Alan Smith

A surge of monsoonal moisture will lead to an increase in thunderstorms across the Southwest from Thu to Sun, with UT, CO, & NM favored for the most consistent activity. Northern AZ will see active days Thu-Fri with fewer storms in the days to follow. The Northern Rockies will also see scattered t-storms each day in this pattern. Temps will also not be crazy hot by mid-July standards.

Final Post of the 2024-2025 Season

    2 months ago Alan Smith

The winter of 2024-2025 featured near to above average snowfall across the Sierra, Central/Northern Rockies, and much of the East. Snowpack is currently melting at a faster rate than usual across much of the West due to warmer and drier conditions so far in April. Looking ahead, a storm will bring high-elevation snow showers to the Sierra & the Rockies from late this week through early next week.

    2 months ago Powderchaser Steve

This will be my final chase powder post for the 24/25 season. It has been an epic season in many areas, including northern Vermont and many northern/Central Rockies, Sierra, and Alaska spots. La Niña delivered as forecasted. Next Season will be deep somewhere! It is always deep on the Chase Powder Forecast. This post recaps the season for 24/25.
