A series of low pressure troughs will move across the West, which will help to take the edge off the heat a bit. The Rockies will see numerous t-storms with locally heavy rain Friday-Saturday, then much drier air arrives Sunday-Monday. Smoky conditions will prevail in many areas this weekend, while the Cascades should see some rain Mon-Tue with light showers also possible for the Inland NW.

That's a wrap on the 2023-24 winter season!

Spring skiing conditions have prevailed across much of the West over the past several days. However, an active pattern will develop during the final days of April with the potential for late-season "powder" days at ski resorts that are still open. New snowfall will be on the denser side and snow will largely be confined to mid to high elevations.

It's my final post of the season. Light-moderate snow will continue in the Colorado Front Range foothills and mountains through Saturday morning. Peak intensity comes Friday night with some rideable pow for Saturday. Season recap of my top 10 chases. What's in store for next season?
