    Fourth of July Weekend Forecast

    23 hours ago Alan Smith

A low pressure trough will move across the Northern Rockies on Friday & Saturday and abundant monsoonal moisture in place will result in numerous showers & t-storms with heavy rain possible. Scattered t-storms can be expected both days across the Central Rockies, including UT & CO. Early next week, the monsoon will weaken a bit with more run-of-the-mill t-storms & lighter rain for most areas.

Late-spring storms will occasionally bring chances for snow to Utah mountains as we close out April and begin May. We may still have chances for fresh snow days at resorts that remain open.

Final Post of the 2024-2025 Season

    2 months ago Alan Smith

The winter of 2024-2025 featured near to above average snowfall across the Sierra, Central/Northern Rockies, and much of the East. Snowpack is currently melting at a faster rate than usual across much of the West due to warmer and drier conditions so far in April. Looking ahead, a storm will bring high-elevation snow showers to the Sierra & the Rockies from late this week through early next week.
