Snow begins on Friday and continues off and on through the weekend into early Monday. Significant snowfall totals in the mountains of northern Utah are likely, but it's a complicated forecast. High pressure returns for next week.

The incoming series of moisture is still on track with significant totals for the PNW (4-6 inches of water). Decaying pieces of energy from an Atmospheric River will impact the Rockies late Friday to Monday coming in sections, each a bit warmer than the last. I have downtrended the totals slightly.

High pressure will finally break down across the West late this week, opening up the door for a series of storms to bring much-needed snowfall heading into early December. This pattern will favor the deepest snow totals across Canada, the Pacific Northwest, and the Rockies. New England also picked up some good snow early this week with more snow chances ahead over the next 7+ days.
