We have a few more weekends of skiing and riding at Crystal, and the first part of this weekend looks good. Some rain and high-altitude snow showers will be possible on Sunday. Showery and unsettled conditions are expected for much of the week,, and that may persist into next weekend as well.

The winter of 2024-2025 featured near to above average snowfall across the Sierra, Central/Northern Rockies, and much of the East. Snowpack is currently melting at a faster rate than usual across much of the West due to warmer and drier conditions so far in April. Looking ahead, a storm will bring high-elevation snow showers to the Sierra & the Rockies from late this week through early next week.

This will be my final chase powder post for the 24/25 season. It has been an epic season in many areas, including northern Vermont and many northern/Central Rockies, Sierra, and Alaska spots. La Niña delivered as forecasted. Next Season will be deep somewhere! It is always deep on the Chase Powder Forecast. This post recaps the season for 24/25.

For the rest of this week, a cold front moving across the Central Rockies will bring showers & t-storms to WY, CO, & NM Wed-Thu while the West Coast states will see a late-season heat wave. Next week, isolated to scattered showers & t-storms develop across the West with continued mild temps. Heading into mid-month, the PNW will trend wetter and cooler.
