My overall assessment on chasing powder is "Big Numbers" for the PNW and Western Canada, decent numbers for the Sierra, and Northern Rockies. Some resorts in Canada and the PNW might score 3 feet by end of next week. The end of the month offers colder and deeper solutions for the Rockies.

High pressure will lead to mild conditions over the West on Friday and Saturday, but the pattern will gradually trend cooler and more active early next week with snow chances ramping up. The East will see cold temperatures over the next 5 days with periods of light snow, followed by a warm-up after Christmas.
