The severe weather threat will decrease across Montana & Wyoming this week after several active days. A cooler pattern will take hold across the Northwest this week with the potential for significant rainfall on Friday-Saturday, with high-elevation snow also possible.

    Drying Out After Wednesday's Storms

    5 days ago Alan Smith

Rainfall from Wednesday's thunderstorms generally ranged from a quarter to a half-inch over the Teton Range and in valley areas at the base of the Tetons, with lighter amounts around the town of Jackson. We will now head back into a dry pattern for the foreseeable future, though many days will feature a slight chance of an isolated thunderstorm with minimal rain potential with any storms.

Final Post of the 2024-2025 Season

    1 month ago Alan Smith

The winter of 2024-2025 featured near to above average snowfall across the Sierra, Central/Northern Rockies, and much of the East. Snowpack is currently melting at a faster rate than usual across much of the West due to warmer and drier conditions so far in April. Looking ahead, a storm will bring high-elevation snow showers to the Sierra & the Rockies from late this week through early next week.
