A series of low pressure troughs will move across the West, which will help to take the edge off the heat a bit. The Rockies will see numerous t-storms with locally heavy rain Friday-Saturday, then much drier air arrives Sunday-Monday. Smoky conditions will prevail in many areas this weekend, while the Cascades should see some rain Mon-Tue with light showers also possible for the Inland NW.

Summer heat is in full-effect. Snow has melted and now we are just waiting for Mother Nature to turn the corner and bring us back toward winter.

Spring skiing conditions have prevailed across much of the West over the past several days. However, an active pattern will develop during the final days of April with the potential for late-season "powder" days at ski resorts that are still open. New snowfall will be on the denser side and snow will largely be confined to mid to high elevations.
