Dry weather through Thursday evening. Heavy snow and difficult travel on Thursday night and into Friday. Snow continues through Saturday night. Dry Sunday and Monday. Another storm Tuesday night and into Wednesday, March 19. More snow possible late next week.

The next storm will bring on-then-off-again snow starting on Friday morning and continuing through Sunday morning.

The forecast for the next storm has not changed much. Snow will fall from Thursday night through Sunday morning, and three-day totals should be 7-15 inches for most mountains, with a few spots maybe pushing toward 20 inches. There should be powder on Friday, Saturday, and also on Sunday morning. After this system, the next storm will bring snow on March 18-19.

Two to three feet of snow fell in the Sierra Thursday morning. Snow moved east over Idaho and approached Utah and the Tetons. Snow continues in the Sierra. Significant snow totals are possible for the Cottonwoods, with generally 7-15 inches expected over many areas of the Rockies as wrung-out moisture from the Sierra moves east. Four Corners should also score well.

A series of storms will impact the West over the next 1-2 weeks with significant snowfall expected in many areas. The first storm on Wednesday-Thursday will have far-reaching impacts with heavy snow from Canada to Arizona, while Tahoe and Mammoth are in line for the deepest snow totals.
