Mostly sunny on Wednesday. A final storm for the week moves in Thursday with snow showers into Friday. Sunny days for the weekend into Monday. Partly sunny for Tuesday and then storms could return by Wednesday, with an active period through the weekend of the 16th-17th.

We will see periods of rain showers over the next few days with warm temps. Snow levels will remain well above the bases of the ski areas and at most times over the summit. The weekend and early next week will be dry but by the end of next week we could see active weather.

The messy warm storm continues in the central Rockies and Sierra through Friday. The parent, low off the coast of the PNW, continues to spin waves into the region, with cold air trapped in the PNW and northern Rockies and warm, moist flow aimed at the Sierra. A cold front advances into the Sierra and central Rockies Friday with chase-worthy snow.

February has come in like a lion this year with strong storms, heavy snow (and rain), and sharp temperature differences across the West and the East. An active pattern is expected to continue for the foreseeable future with frequent storms from coast to coast.
