Two to three feet of snow fell in the Sierra Thursday morning. Snow moved east over Idaho and approached Utah and the Tetons. Snow continues in the Sierra. Significant snow totals are possible for the Cottonwoods, with generally 7-15 inches expected over many areas of the Rockies as wrung-out moisture from the Sierra moves east. Four Corners should also score well.
A series of storms will impact the West over the next 1-2 weeks with significant snowfall expected in many areas. The first storm on Wednesday-Thursday will have far-reaching impacts with heavy snow from Canada to Arizona, while Tahoe and Mammoth are in line for the deepest snow totals.
Temperatures will drop back following a cold front on Tuesday night, but be quick to rebound through the week with warm weather returning by this weekend. Saturday looks dry, but Sunday will be wet. Take a look.
