Heading into a Warm and Mostly Dry Pattern

    11 hours ago Alan Smith

Memorial Day weekend is shaping up to be beautiful with warmer temps and more sunshine. A slight chance of t-storms will exist Sat-Sun, but it's a marginal setup so we may end up with nothing. Somewhat higher t-storm chances arrive Mon thru the middle of next week, but rainfall potential looks sparse. Overall, warmer & drier than normal conditions are expected for the end of May & early June.

A Wet Memorial Day Weekend East of the Continental Divide

    1 day ago Alan Smith

Abundant moisture originating in the Gulf of Mexico will reach the easternmost ranges of the Rockies this weekend, resulting in a good chance of showers and thunderstorms each day from Sat to Mon with heavy rain possible. West of the Divide, scattered afternoon thunderstorms can also be expected. A system will also bring showers & thunderstorms to the Northwest on Sun & Mon.

Final Post of the 2024-2025 Season

    1 month ago Alan Smith

The winter of 2024-2025 featured near to above average snowfall across the Sierra, Central/Northern Rockies, and much of the East. Snowpack is currently melting at a faster rate than usual across much of the West due to warmer and drier conditions so far in April. Looking ahead, a storm will bring high-elevation snow showers to the Sierra & the Rockies from late this week through early next week.

La Niña delivered as forecasted. Next Season will be deep somewhere! It is always deep on the Chase Powder Forecast. This post recaps the season for 24/25.
