Monday's weather was cool and mostly dry, and now on Tuesday morning, light snow has returned to the northern mountains. From Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday morning, a storm will bring moderate to intense snow to all mountains with 3-8 inches of accumulation. From Wednesday through Saturday, this storm will linger, with additional snow over the southeastern mountains.

The wave departing the Pacific Northwest is setting up over the Teton Range Tuesday morning. It will spread south, clipping the northern Wasatch and most of western Colorado. That wave will re-intensify over Colorado Wednesday through Friday, with an uncertain track likely favoring the eastern resorts and plains. Many ski areas will see snow, but the highest amounts are likely in the south.

A storm will move across the Northwest and Northern Rockies on Monday-Tuesday before stalling for several days over the Southern Rockies. The result will be a multi-day snow event with deep totals expected in Southern/Eastern Colorado and Northern New Mexico.
