    Thunderstorms Favoring the Northern Rockies

    8 hours ago Alan Smith

The Northern Rockies will continue to see frequent thunderstorms through the end of the week and into next week as a trough-dominant pattern remains over the Northwest with moisture and energy streaming into Montana. Gulf moisture in the low levels of the atmosphere will favor stronger storms east of the Divide in Montana & Wyoming. Colorado & the Southern Rockies will see a drying trend.

Final Post of the 2024-2025 Season

    1 month ago Alan Smith

The winter of 2024-2025 featured near to above average snowfall across the Sierra, Central/Northern Rockies, and much of the East. Snowpack is currently melting at a faster rate than usual across much of the West due to warmer and drier conditions so far in April. Looking ahead, a storm will bring high-elevation snow showers to the Sierra & the Rockies from late this week through early next week.
