Record snowfall numbers are coming in for many areas of the Southeast, where up to 10 inches fell in New Orleans! This surpassed previous records from 1895. This weekend, an unorganized system is headed for the eastern Rockies, skirting south over much of Colorado by Saturday. A stronger system is possible for the four corners by Monday. The southern Sierra also stands a chance.

Arctic air has overspread most of the country early this week with cold and dry conditions for many areas while the Great Lakes have seen lake effect snow. The Gulf Coast also saw record snowfall on Tuesday! A relatively weak storm will move into the West late this week and over the weekend with snow expected for parts of the Rockies, California, and Southwest.

Mostly sunny days through Friday. A cold front for Saturday brings in much colder air for the weekend and the chance for snow showers on Saturday. Sunny and cold on Sunday and Monday. Then sunny with milder temperatures by Tuesday. We could be on the southern edge of the storm track going into the first week of February.
