A cool, fall-like trough will bring showers and chances for a dusting of snow to the very highest elevations of northern Utah middle of this week. Another cool trough is possible for early next week as well.

For the rest of this week, a cold front moving across the Central Rockies will bring showers & t-storms to WY, CO, & NM Wed-Thu while the West Coast states will see a late-season heat wave. Next week, isolated to scattered showers & t-storms develop across the West with continued mild temps. Heading into mid-month, the PNW will trend wetter and cooler.

Spring skiing conditions have prevailed across much of the West over the past several days. However, an active pattern will develop during the final days of April with the potential for late-season "powder" days at ski resorts that are still open. New snowfall will be on the denser side and snow will largely be confined to mid to high elevations.
