This is the first time all season that we have seen a storm that is both deep, cold, and relatively clam wind wise. The deepest powder will be found in the Sierra, followed by the Wasatch, Four Corners, and even the I-70 corridor (Less than its southern neighbors). The Tetons are on the northern edge of decent totals but will also score.

Northwest flow will bring drier and colder air into Oregon to start this week. A couple of clouds and even a snow shower will affect Mt. Hood on Monday with minimal impacts. Clouds clear Tuesday and Wednesday with windy conditions making it a beautiful but cold couple of days. The storm track is expected to return by Thursday, with light snow continuing into Friday.

The East is experiencing a very active pattern with new storms arriving every couple of days, and this trend looks to continue for the foreseeable future. The Mid-Atlantic will see challenges with mixed precipitation while New England will see significant snow totals. Following a brief lull, the pattern will also turn active again across the West during the second half of this week.
