Snow for the Northern Rockies this Weekend

    5 hours ago Alan Smith

A cold low pressure system will track across the Northwest and Northern Rockies over the weekend, bringing rain and high elevation snow to the Cascades and Northern Rockies along with chilly temperatures. Early next week, moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Erick in the Eastern Pacific will reach New Mexico with heavy rain possible, while Colorado will also see an uptick in thunderstorms.

Final Post of the 2024-2025 Season

    1 month ago Alan Smith

The winter of 2024-2025 featured near to above average snowfall across the Sierra, Central/Northern Rockies, and much of the East. Snowpack is currently melting at a faster rate than usual across much of the West due to warmer and drier conditions so far in April. Looking ahead, a storm will bring high-elevation snow showers to the Sierra & the Rockies from late this week through early next week.
