Fine weather today precedes a long-awaited snowstorm arriving from the west, bringing 25–40cm of snow to the Australian Alps from Tuesday to Friday, with over 50cm possible at higher elevations. Strong northwest winds will redistribute snow to upper slopes, with most snowfall expected during two fronts, especially the stronger one on Thursday.
