For the rest of this week, a cold front moving across the Central Rockies will bring showers & t-storms to WY, CO, & NM Wed-Thu while the West Coast states will see a late-season heat wave. Next week, isolated to scattered showers & t-storms develop across the West with continued mild temps. Heading into mid-month, the PNW will trend wetter and cooler.

In this season wrap-up post, we relive the most memorable storm cycles and sum up the strong El Niño from a snowpack perspective. It was a banner year for the southern/central Sangres, Jemez, and Sandias, and less so for the northern Sangres and southern mountains, though all mountains finished above normal snowpack. Spring skiing conditions have prevailed across much of the West over the past several days. However, an active pattern will develop during the final days of April with the potential for late-season "powder" days at ski resorts that are still open. New snowfall will be on the denser side and snow will largely be confined to mid to high elevations.

It's my final post of the season. Light-moderate snow will continue in the Colorado Front Range foothills and mountains through Saturday morning. Peak intensity comes Friday night with some rideable pow for Saturday. Season recap of my top 10 chases. What's in store for next season?
