Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Heads up, there may be fresher snow! Read the latest Copper Mountain Daily Snow

Update

Copper Mountain's scheduled opening day is on Friday, November 10th. There has not been a lot of natural snow, and temperatures are not that cold, so I don't know if opening day will go on as scheduled. In any case, let's get back into the swing of the Copper Daily Snow!

Currently, Copper is making snow, and there is also some natural snowpack holding on the upper half of the mountain. According to the automated SNOTEL weather station at mid-mountain, we are around 50% of average snowpack as of November 6th. But in this early season, the average snowpack is very low, so this number isn't that meaningful.

In terms of fresh snow, Copper picked up 2-3 inches on Saturday night and Sunday morning, and will see additional snow showers on Monday.

From Monday night through Wednesday morning, an additional 3-6 inches could fall, but I have low confidence in this forecast as the models are all over the place with near zero agreement.

After this week's storm, opening day on Friday should be dry and partly sunny with temperatures in the upper 30s. Then we'll have a chance of snow on Saturday and again early next week. I'll write more details about these systems in the coming days.

Thanks for reading and check back each day for an updated forecast!
