We were expecting to wake up to a few inches for Saturday morning's report but mother nature decided to delay the storm a few hours. It is now marching east through western Colorado and we can expect heavy snow to ramp up over the next few hours and into midday Saturday.

Based on how the storm is playing out so far, I'm going to lower my expectations a bit and call for 1-4 inches through midday Saturday. The wildcard will be on Saturday afternoon as off-and-on snow continues to fall.

The storm will then begin to clear out on Saturday evening and lead us into a very cold night on Saturday night. Mid-mountain temps will drop well below 0F and they will struggle to climb into the single-digits on Sunday morning.

Dry conditions continue through Sunday night under partly sunny skies.

Extended Forecast

The month of March will begin with dry conditions and much milder temperatures compared to what we experienced in February. Mid-mountain highs will be in the 20s to low 30s during the first half of the upcoming week ahead of temps well into the 30s during the second half of the week.

The only slight chance for snow during the first week of March will be on Thursday, March 4th as a moist storm slides out of the southwest. Based on the upcoming weather pattern, I think it will be hard for this storm to do much so we'll see how it plays out.

Looking further ahead, we'll likely have to wait until the second week of March and maybe even into the middle of the month for a stormier pattern to return. The focus will be on the West Coast and we'll likely receive the scraps until the storminess shifts further east into the Rockies.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for daily updates!
