Update

The storm arrived on Saturday night and delivered two inches for Sunday morning's report. Temperatures are currently in the 20s and they won't move much through midday Sunday.

The snow machine will quickly ramp up through Sunday afternoon. As we've discussed over the past few mornings, winds from the west-northwest and cooler temperatures will take over through Sunday and into early Monday morning. This will combine to bring us periods of heavy snow through Sunday and possibly into Sunday night if the west and northwest flow can really get cranking.

In total, look for an additional 4-8 inches through Sunday night, with Sunday afternoon and Monday morning being a great time to ride the powder wave.

Following the fun on Sunday, dry weather will prevail on Monday and continue through Wednesday. Daytime highs will rise into the teens on Monday and Tuesday and back into the 20s on Wednesday and Thursday. Overnight lows will drop into the single-digits to low teens each night.

Looking ahead to next weekend, our full attention will turn to two rounds of snow. The first will arrive on Thursday, December 12th, with the second swinging into the Tetons around Saturday, December 14th and into Sunday, December 15th. Friday (12/13) and Sunday (12/15) will the time to watch for more soft turns.

After another break during the week of Monday, December 16th, all longer-range models point to a stormy pattern for the Western US beginning around December 22nd.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned!
