I-70 Travel Conditions

Slick and snow-packed from Glenwood Springs through the Eisenhower Tunnel. Slower travel speeds will continue through Friday. Roads will begin to dry on Saturday morning, followed by mostly dry surfaces from Saturday evening through Sunday.

CDOT Alerts

CDOT Twitter

Expect heavy traffic in both directions throughout the upcoming weekend. Check out the GOI70 Travel Forecast for the latest updates.

Friday - Friday Night

Periods of moderate to heavy snowfall will continue on Friday as a cold front and west to northwest winds arrive. Look for an additional 2-6+ inches along the corridor through Friday afternoon, with the wildcard being Friday night as cool, northwest flow could deliver a few inches of extra fluff for Saturday morning. Enjoy!

For travel, snow-packed road surfaces will be the story through Friday night. Strong winds and quick periods of very heavy snow could also cause accidents so keep a close eye on CDOT for the latest alerts.

Saturday - Sunday

There could be a few lingering snow showers and clouds on Saturday but we won't be looking at any additional accumulations. Temps will be in the teens to low 20s.

Partly sunny skies and dry conditions will then take over for Sunday, along with temps back in the upper 20s to low 30s.

For travel, the road surfaces will still be slick and snow-packed on Saturday morning but mostly dry surfaces should prevail by Saturday afternoon. Expect normal travel speeds, outside of traffic, from midday Saturday through Sunday.

Monday - Monday Night

After the break over the weekend, our next round of snow will target Colorado on Monday and into Monday night. This quick-hitting system should bring us another 2-6 inches along the corridor, with snow-packed road surfaces and soft turns for Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning.

Extended Forecast

Later Next Week & Beyond

We'll then turn to next Wednesday and Thursday for another round of snow to clip the I-70 mountain corridor. This should once again give us a nice refresh, along with cooler temperatures. Look for slick and snowy road surfaces to continue on-and-off through much of next week.

Looking even further ahead, it does look like we'll be just a tad too far west for storms to clip Colorado during the final week of January. This would give us dry conditions to close out the month and we'll have to look ahead to early-February for our next round of storms.

As always, keep an eye on our 1-10 day forecasts for each mountain and right here for the latest updates.
