GOI70 Travel Forecast

Monday - Thursday

The resorts along the corridor are reporting 1-5 inches on Monday morning, which is right in line with our forecast for Sunday and Sunday night. About half of this fell after the lift closed on Sunday evening so there should be fresh turns to enjoy for first chair Monday morning!

Dry conditions will now take hold on Monday morning and continue through Thursday. Expect temperatures in the 30s under sunny skies on Monday, followed by temperatures well into the 40s under partly sunny skies from Tuesday through Thursday.

For travel, slick and slushy road surfaces will be encountered over the higher passes through Monday morning. All road surfaces will then become clear and dry on Monday afternoon and this will remain the case through Thursday. Normal travel speeds can be expected Monday through Thursday.

Thursday PM - Friday

Our next round of snow will be in the works beginning Thursday night and into Friday, March 29th. This storm should favor the I-70 mountain corridor with moderate snowfall through Friday, with lingering showers possible into Saturday.

For travel, we can expect slick and wet surfaces to return on Thursday night and more slushy and snow-packed road surfaces on Friday and potentially into Saturday. The higher sun angle will improve the surfaces during the day but depending on the timing of the storm, we'll need to keep an eye on potential travel impacts on Friday.

Extended Forecast

Upcoming Weekend

Following the storm on Friday, we could receive lingering snow showers on Saturday ahead of more dry weather beginning on Sunday. Look for mid-mountain temps in the 20s on Saturday and back into 30s for Sunday.

Early April Outlook

Monday, April 1st and Tuesday, April 2nd should also remain dry before we turn to Wednesday, April 3rd and Thursday, April 4th for another spring storm to slide through the Rockies. This active pattern should then continue to keep our weather interesting as we head into the first 5-10 days of the month.

As always, keep an eye on our 1-10 day forecasts for every mountain along I-70 and right here for the latest updates.
