I-70 Snow Report
I-70 Travel Conditions
This Week & Weekend
The weather maker from the past two days will move out of Colorado on Tuesday. We'll then be in for mixed periods of sun, clouds, and chances for high-elevation showers through the rest of the week and into the upcoming weekend. Mid-mountain temps will rise into the 40s each day. Wednesday and/or Thursday will likely provide the best chance to catch mostly clear skies over the next week.
For travel, all road surfaces will remain mostly dry, with travel cruising along at normal speeds.
Next Week & Beyond
Other than the high-elevation snow showers adding a few inches here and there, we will be watching next Monday, April 29th, for a decent shot at steady precipitation. Warm temperatures will likely keep the snow level above many valley floors but keep an eye on early next week for soft high-elevation turns at A-Basin, Loveland, and Breckenridge.
Beyond next Monday, there are no significant changes in the pattern so expect much of the same with mild temps and continued chances for high-elevation showers.
As always, keep an eye on our 3-day hourly forecasts and 1-10 day forecasts for every mountain along I-70 as the forecast continues to evolve.
OpenSummit → Mountain Weather Forecasts
And as we begin to transition into hiking and biking season, check out OpenSummit, our summer service that provides precipitation, lightning, temperature, and wind forecasts for the 1,000 highest and most notable mountains across the United States. OpenSummit is currently only an iPhone app but we are working to make it a full website and an Android app by early this summer.
Finally, we will soon combine the All-Access subscription ($19/year) for OpenSnow and OpenSummit so that ONE subscription provides All-Access to BOTH apps.
Thanks for reading and stay tuned for my 2018-2019 season recap on Wednesday (4/24).
