Snow Forecast

Our current weather-maker is trying to deliver snowfall but this just isn't our storm. We can expect more light snow showers through midday Saturday, and an outside chance for a quick period of heavy snow, but I'm only expecting a dusting to an additional 1-2 inches.

The second half of Saturday, Saturday night, and into the first half of Sunday will be mostly dry.

From Sunday night through Tuesday, we'll be watching for two chances for accumulating snowfall. The first will arrive on Sunday night and the second will arrive on Monday night. Again, this just isn't our pattern but we should still be able to squeeze out anywhere from 2-5 inches.

Keep an eye on Monday morning and Tuesday morning for fresh turns. Temperatures will be much colder than previous days as daytime highs only reach into the teens on Monday and into the single-digits to low teens on Tuesday.

Travel Forecast

Wet, icy, and a few snowy road surfaces will be encountered through Saturday morning from Vail through the Eisenhower Tunnel. There's still an outside chance for a few heavier snow showers but travel should cruise along at normal speeds.

Wet and icy road surfaces will continue through Saturday night and into Sunday. Expect normal travel speeds.

For Sunday night through Tuesday, we'll be watching for icy and snowy road surfaces. The period to watch for potential travel impacts will be Monday night and into Tuesday.

Mostly dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds should follow for next Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Additional chances for snow will bring more wet, icy, and snowy road surfaces around next Saturday (1/30).

Extended Forecast

It now looks like Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of next week will be dry and mostly sunny. Temps will still be cool on Wednesday, followed by milder daytime highs on Thursday and Friday.

Looking further ahead, our next chance for snow will arrive on Saturday, January 30th. This storm will be the remnants of the DEEP totals from California. I'm only expecting another light refresh at this time but as always, we'll see how it trends as we get closer.

The calendar flip into February will then feature a few in-between days ahead of the potential for a stormier period during the first week of February. This is still fantasy land so we'll continue to monitor and keep you updated.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for daily updates!
