Snow Forecast

Monday will be our final day of dry and windy conditions ahead of snow returning on Tuesday. Look for increasing cloud coverage, wind gusts of 30-50 MPH, and temps climbing into the 40s.

We should then stay dry through Monday night and into Tuesday morning ahead of snow showers developing by midday Tuesday. These snow showers will continue off-and-on through Tuesday afternoon ahead of a chance for steadier snow and a few quick bursts of intense snowfall on Tuesday evening and into Tuesday night. Temps will be warm and the snow level will likely hover around 8-9,000 feet before dropping down to 6,000 feet through Tuesday night.

As you can see in the image above, the bright pink details the potential for the best totals along the Continental Divide, which bodes well for A-Basin, Loveland, and Mary Jane at Winter Park. In total, look for 5-10+ inches at these areas come Wednesday morning and 4-8 inches for Breckenridge.

Snow showers will then continue through Wednesday, though any additional snow totals will be light. Temps will climb into the 30s on Wednesday afternoon ahead of a hard freeze on Wednesday night as temps drop into the teens.

Travel Forecast

Dry road surfaces and normal travel speeds continue through Monday night.

Wet, icy, and slushy road surfaces will return through Tuesday afternoon, followed by slushy, snow-packed, and slick road surfaces from early Tuesday evening through Wednesday morning. Slow travel speeds will be encountered during the second half of Tuesday, especially during the evening hours when intense snow showers develop. Keep a close eye on CDOT for the latest travel alerts and updates.

Wet and icy road surfaces follow through Wednesday morning, followed by mostly dry road surfaces from Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday night.

Clear and dry road surfaces will follow on Thursday (4/29) and continue through Sunday (5/2).

Extended Forecast

Mild and dry weather will return on Thursday (4/29) and continue through Sunday (5/2). Expect beautiful weather each day and spring corn conditions at the remaining open resorts.

We'll then be watching early next week (May 3/4) for another round of high-elevation snow, though very warm temperatures will likely limit our chances at significant accumulations.

Thanks for reading! Next update on Wednesday (4/28).
