Update
West of the Continental Divide:
No major changes to the forecast as a warm SW flow of moisture keeps light snow falling into Friday with snow levels at or above 5000’ with another 2-4” inches possible for most areas on the Westside of the Divide.
The snow tapers off Friday night into Saturday but clouds, warm temps and widespread snow showers will still be in the forecast for Saturday. On Sunday a weak cold front will push moisture into areas mainly to the south of I-90 with 1-3” likely through the day. Even with the cold front on Sunday, daily highs at 6000’ will be in the low to mid 30’s across the board. Warm, unsettled and murky conditions look to loom well into the middle of next week.
East of the Continental Divide:
A small disturbance is now expected to move into mainly SW Montana (Bridger, Big Sky) late Friday morning bringing light snow lasting into Friday night with a cumulative 2-4” likely. Daytime highs will stay warm, with temps 32-36 at 7000’.
For the weekend a high-pressure ridge moves back in Saturday drying things out with generally sunny skies. Daytime temps across the Eastside will continue to be well above seasonal averages throughout the weekend. On Sunday another short-wave moves through SW Montana bringing light snow with a few inches likely. High-pressure builds back in Monday keeping above average daytime temps and dry skies into mid-week.
