Friday was a partly sunny day with high temperatures in the 30s.

On Friday night, snow showers began, and they ramped up just before sunrise early on Saturday morning with 1-2 inches on the snow stakes.

On Saturday, expect steady snow during the morning with on-and-off snow showers during the afternoon. Additional accumulations should be 2-5 inches and turns should get softer through the morning and midday.

After the storm, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday will be dry. Sunday will be the sunniest day with highs in the 20s, and Monday and Tuesday should bring more clouds with highs in the 30s.

Starting on Wednesday, February 3, we will see a storm cycle that could bring snow every 36 hours for the better part of 5 to 7 days. This is good news, though the details of each storm within this storm cycle are still uncertain.

My best estimate right now is that our highest chances for snow will be Wednesday into Thursday, Friday into Saturday, and likely early the following week (February 8-10).

Let’s hope this storm cycle comes together and produces consistent snow that piles up over many days – we could use it!
