Saturday was a lovely day to be on the hill with sunny skies, cool temperatures in the teens, and more open terrain (now about 39% of trails are open).

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be simple weather days – dry, mostly sunny, and comfortable temperatures rising into the 20s and low 30s. With mostly clear skies, each morning should present a temperature inversion where readings are colder at the base and warmer at the summit.

The change in our weather should begin on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. We'll see snow starting then with periods of intense snow into Friday and then snow could wane on Saturday. This first wave of snow from Thursday through Friday could deliver 10+ inches with the best powder maybe on Friday into Saturday morning.

After that, we'll continue to see chances for snow each day from December 26 through maybe the end of the month, but I have very little confidence in the timing of any periods of more intense snow during this time. 

The overall message is good news! We should close out the last nine days of December with snow nearly every day and we will likely see a lot more terrain open by the end of the month if not sooner.
